Special and Critical Installation Information

  • In the winter months (November through April) expect black ice or snow/ice and the roads. Good wipers, plenty of windshield wiper fluid, and a full tank of gas are critical.
  • Please call as far in advance as possible to make reservations at the Temporary Lodging Facility (Flyers Inn) 413-557-2700.
  • For instillation phone directory assistance, please dial 413-557-1110.

Defense Service Network (DSN) Dialing Instructions

The DSN is the provider of long-distance communications service for the Department of Defense (DoD). Every installation has a special DSN number and the numbers vary by world-wide location. In order to place a call using DSN, the caller must be using a military phone on an installation. Cell phones cannot dial DSN numbers. When dialing a DSN number from a United States installation to another United States installation, it is unnecessary to dial the DSN 312 area code. When dialing a DSN number to/from overseas locations, the DSN area code must be included. Currently, there is no physical operator for Westover Air Reserve Base. For instillation phone directory assistance, please dial 413-557-1110.
