    If you need to forward your mail to JBER while you are enroute, use the general delivery address. It is critical that you include “HOLD” on the address line or your mail will be returned to sender. Once you arrive on JBER, retrieve your mail at this address. Door 32 is on the backside of the building. Mail will be held for up to 60 days.

Mission

Welcome to Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, otherwise known as JBER!

Located within the Municipality of Anchorage, JBER boasts a large military community of over 32,000 people and accounts for approximately 10% of the local population. Come prepared to be awed by this beautiful base, and very military-friendly state. Amid this region of Southcentral Alaska are picturesque, majestic, snow-capped mountains, lakes, rivers, glaciers and plenty of wildlife. We are incredibly excited you are here and want to help you and your family get settled in Alaska as smoothly as possible.
