The mission of Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall (JBMHH) also known as America's Post, formerly known as Fort Myer, is to support the U.S. Army Military District of Washington (MDW) and the Joint Task Force-National Capital Region:
- Respond to emergencies: JBMHH implements contingency plans to respond to crises, disasters, and security needs in the National Capital Region.
- Provide Support: JBMHH offers a range of services and support to the Army and other Defense Department organizations, including personal property shipping, airlift, and the operation of Arlington National Cemetery.
- Conduct Ceremonies: JBMHH hosts official ceremonies on behalf of the nation's military and civilian leaders, both locally and worldwide.
- Secure the Community: JBMHH secures the joint community, sustains infrastructure, and supports installation partners and special events.
Support Homeland Security: JBM-HH supports Homeland Security in the Nation's Capital.
JBMHH provides housing, support, and services to thousands of active-duty, reserve, and retired military, as well as members of the U.S. Coast Guard and their families.
